Financial Instability is Impacting Student Learning:
In response to declining enrollment and rising costs, budget cuts in the hundreds of thousands of dollars are hurting our ability to fulfill our mission to prepare our community’s next generation of lifelong learners.
Last year, the district absorbed more than $642,000 in budget cuts, which has led to fewer resources for students and rising pressure on class sizes. We expect to make additional cuts without the help of the proposed operating referendum. These cuts jeopardize staff positions, extracurricular and elective programming, and routine upgrades in classroom technology.

Many large school districts have more students than opportunities, but that’s not the case here. Underwood Public School provides programming and opportunities that meet the needs and desires of all our students. With additional revenue, we could continue to provide these opportunities and do even more to support student achievement.
